History of the Eurosong Online Contest
The Eurosong Online Contest came out from the Europe Online Contest, which was founded in 2013. The contest grew very fast and had around 40 participants in three editions, which led the supervisor to retire several times. Europe Online Contest closed its doors in January of 2019, after having restarted the competition three times.
After one year, Eurovisong Online Contest was born from one of the participants of the Europe Online Contest, since the contest had a lot of potential to keep going. Even though it was a provisional name, the competition changed to Eurosong Online Contest in the second edition, which made it more easy to pronounce and easier to find. So the first edition started on March 2020 and its first Grand Final took place in Athens, the 4th of April of 2020, with 26 countries competing.
